LadyLady Starlight, a performance artist, was introduced to Gaga at this time. The first album of Gaga, "The Fame", was released in 2008, with very little radio attention. Gaga went on tour across Europe and in the US to promote the album. However, it was not until Gaga got her first big hit, "Just Dance", that mainstream attention began become a part of the music industry. Gaga was suffering from a tear in the labrum in her right hip, which she had been nursing for weeks in hope that she would be able to carry on the tour. After her performance in Toronto Gaga had to walk and was in extreme pain. She was taken to the hospital, and her tour was cancelled.
